Day 1! It officially begins.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the launch of the art programming at Sled Island last night. All of the art shows will be running through out the festival. Check ‘em out as a balance to insane lots of music coming your way! 

Big ups to all those that attended Sled Island Film 2010 which capped last night with SHOW US YOUR SHORTS - Pregnant Jack + Live Acation Shorts. None of it would of been possibly without the tireless support of the local film community and of course our champ Jeanette Burman. Kudos go out to her and everyone else involved with the film festival!

Tonight is looking awesome on multiple levels with a slew of wicked shows kicking off the music component at Sled Island. The first of which is a unique performance by Deerhoof at Central United Church! Don’t miss out on on this intimate and beautiful performance. 

Following that, make sure you check out Signals performing on a stacked bill at Broken City. Anti-Pop Consortium are making their Calgary debut at the HiFi Club and The Thulls perform for the first-time ever tonight for the Obey Convention showcase at Republik. Major props go to Big Freedia, the sissy bounce phenomenon capping off a ridiculously awesome night at the Legion!!
