Discoveries of the Day! Pure Sugar, Raw Power!

Feel Alright (Calgary, AB/ Pittsburgh, PA) Out of a decidedly lukewarm sentiment designed to keep people at bay comes Feel Alright, blaring their lo-fi garage pop at levels that are anything but all right. The brain-child of wiz kid Craig Fahner, who has performed in every Sled Island in one capacity or another, not to be missed! feelalright.bandcamp.com/album/hahahahahahaha

Adebisi Shank (Wexford, Ireland) Loud, but not overbearing, this Irish act make the kind of noise that lacks any kind of pretense. Their experimental approach to noise rock is full of layers and contains the kind of textures that will enlighten as much as it will get you moving. Sure to be one of the energetic acts of the festival!  www.myspace.com/adebisishank

The Soft Pack (Los Angeles, CA) The Soft Pack, originally from San Diego, now based out of Los Angeles, bring you care-free Californian surf-pop that is infused with loose, but well executed Bob Dylan- esqe, vocals, Link Wray-inspired guitar jangles and swift back beats, performed with just the right amount of fuzz to instill a bonfire-party-on-Venice-beach sort of feeling.

This quartet, formerly called The Muslims (you decide whether a flaccid penis reference is better or not), create anything from mellow ballads to fast-paced garage rock without losing that ʻ60s vintage feel that defines their music. Founding members, vocalist Matt Lamkin and guitarist Matt McGlouhlin, have just recently finalized the Soft Packʼs line up after working through a rotation of drummers and bassists and these twenty somethings are here to play honest, powerful, post-punk alternative music that will not disappoint. www.myspace.com/thesoftpack
