NNNNeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwssssssssssssssss
Sled Island is excited to support WordFest presenting Chuck Palahniuk on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Central Library, John Dutton Theatre (616 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB) at 7pm. This will be the only Canadian stop on his North American tour to promote his latest novel, Tell-All (Doubleday Canada).
Tell-All is “a sunset Boulevard-inflected homage to Old Hollywood when Bette Davis and Joan Crawford ruled the roost; a veritable Tourette’s syndrome of rat-tat-tat name-dropping, from A-list to the Z-list; a merciless send-up of Lillian Hellman’s habit of butchering the truth that will have Mary McCarthy cheering from the beyond.”
Chuck Palahniuk’s nine previous novels are the bestselling Fight Club, which was made into a film by David Fincher; Survivor; Invisible Monsters; Choke, which was made into a film by director Clark Gregg; Lullaby; Diary; Haunted; Rant; and Snuff. He is also the author of Fugitives and Refugees, a nonfiction profile of Portland, Oregon, published as part of the Crown Journeys series, and the nonfiction collection Stranger Than Fiction. He lives in the Pacific Northwest.
Tickets for this event are $33 and will be sold through the WordFest box office at 403.237.9068 and wordfest.com. Ticket includes a signed copy of Tell-All.
P.S. Chuck Palahniuk will personalize one copy of Tell-All and one backlist title for the first 100 ticket holders only, beginning at 5:30 pm. Tickets, including a pre-signed copy of Tell-All will be available as of 5pm at the Will-Call desk before the event, located outside the John Dutton Theatre, Central Library. Don’t miss out!
