Get Toasty at the Sled Island Warm-up Party!

Sled Island is proud to announce we’re teaming up with our pals Weird Canada to host the Sled Island Warm-up Party! on May 21st at the No. 1 Legion for the Calgary edtion of Wyrd III.

Wyrd is a double-stage, multi-city music marathon curated by Weird Canada, recently named by CBC Radio 3 as the “Best Indie Music Website in Canada.” This traveling caravan of music features nineteen emerging Canadian bands from coast-to-coast in an explosive happening of audible euphoria.

Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver will all play host to the Wyrd caravan, offering a singular opportunity for Western Canadians to explore and discover the best of new Canadian music in one unforgettable evening.

The format is simple; we employ a two-stage setup bouncing performers back and forth between stages, making optimal use of our time and space by creating a continuous stream of live music.

The philosophy is bolder; we do not rely on known names and instead leverage Weird Canada’s ethos of discovery, encouraging people to explore new directions in Canadian music.

The result is an abundant feast for the ears; an unabashed celebration of ground-breaking Canadian music with a creative and nonstop set-list where every performer is a headliner.
